Nestling under Table Mountain we find the Bo Kaap. This area has a rich history and a specific culture rooted in the Islamic faith. I lived here for 6 happy years so got to know the people well. There is nothing better than living in a caring community with strong family values. I loved hearing the call to prayer which wafts over the area and the sounds of happy children as they visited with their neighbours. Sunday mornings are special as one can walk down to Pentz Street and queue for a “bak” of Koesisters… Just make sure you go early! I recently popped in to chat to Kubra Mohamed and her daughter, Tahira Blake as they were finishing up on a Sunday morning.
